In the wake of a recent scandal plaguing Gov. David Paterson, in which he allegedly colluded with state police to pressure a victim in a domestic abuse case to not file a restraining order, Public Advocate Bill DeBlasio and City Council members have called for an investigation into the matter.
DeBlasio, accompanied by Council Members Julissa Ferreras, Annabel Palma, Melissa Mark-Viverito, and Jumaane Williams called for an overarching investigation into the way police and courts handle domestic abuse cases on Tuesday from the steps of City Hall.
