On February 6, 2012, the Commission on Public Information & Communication (COPIC), chaired by Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, held its first meeting of 2012.  COPIC is a City commission established in 1989 under Section 1061 of the New York City Charter.  The Commission’s responsibilities include education and outreach to assist the public in obtaining access to City information, a review of city policies on public access to information, and developing recommendations to improve access to, and distribution of, city data.
